Shivaji College is proud to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee Year 2020-21. Over the course of 60 years, since the college was founded, we have achieved great milestones. We have stepped forward with courage and determination, overcoming challenging circumstances and emerging stronger than ever. In the wake of the global pandemic crisis this year, the college has shifted to online platforms and become a state-of-the-art, technologically advanced institution.
The following events have been organised as part of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations:
Inaugural Lecture for the Diamond Jubilee on October 30, 2020, where the honourable Chief Guest was Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, JNU, who delivered a talk on ‘Self Reliant India’ and Guest of Honour Prof. P.C. Joshi, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Delhi University.
A Webinar on November 30, 2020 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee year and a talk by Professor Rakesh Bhatnagar, Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University entitled 'Good Quality Early Education is the First Step Towards Transforming India’.
An integral part of this year’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the college launched SPACE, its very own digital platform. SPACE is a state-of-the-art ERP system, an initiative of the Website Committee of Shivaji College. It is a centralised database that integrates all the modules and functionalities of the College System that were previously maintained manually. Its user-friendly interface facilitates quick interaction among different stakeholders-faculty, student and administration. It provides accurate up-to-date information that aims to improve efficiency and flexibility of college record management.

The new JIJABAI ACADEMIC BLOCK of Shivaji College is the result of years of hard work, brainstorming, ideas and innovative discussions.
The college conceived the idea for the building in 2009 and the project was first given to Rites. It has been an overwhelming journey from its conceptualization to its execution. Numerous meetings with various architects were held over months, exchanging ideas over the best possible facilities and latest technology that could be incorporated. It is these meetings and the consistent determination of the many involved members that have given the building its present shape.
The project was finally given over to the Asian Construction Company and the chief architect behind its construction is Ms. Sunita Makhija from Avesna Company. The members of the board who have contributed to this project are Dr. Vasan, Dr. Tejbir Rana, Dr. Ashok Shukla, Dr. B.S. Dahiya, Dr. Darshan Malik and Dr. Shiv Kumar Sahdev, Bursar Dr. Priyanka and Vice Principal Dr. Anita Kapur and from the administrative staff Mr. Praveen Kumar and Mr. Hemant Lamba.
The building in its current form boasts the latest modern facilities, state-of-the-art labs, classrooms, research labs and seminar halls. These are available to faculty from all departments and any faculty member who brings in a project would be able to gain full use of a research lab immediately. Shivaji College is the second college to offer facility for finance labs.
The various people who have contributed to the building include the HRD Minister, the Rites Company, the Asian Construction Company and architect Ms. Sunita Makhija
The building was inaugurated on February 29, 2020.
