Principal’s Internship Scheme (PIS)

Principal Internship Scheme offers ‘Summer Internships’ and ‘Academic Session Internship’ to students, facilitating hands-on experience in real-world environments. Through these internships, students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in various professional settings, gaining practical insights and skills that complement their academic learning. By actively engaging in tasks and projects relevant to their fields of study, participants are able to expand their mental faculties, deepen their understanding of theoretical concepts, and develop essential practical skills necessary for success in their chosen careers. The program encourages students to actively apply their knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and creativity to real-life challenges and projects, fostering a holistic approach to learning. Through meaningful interactions with professionals and exposure to diverse work environments, students not only enhance their academic knowledge but also develop crucial interpersonal skills, communication abilities and professional conduct, thus preparing them for the demands and expectations of the modern workplace.

Objective:

The Shivaji College Principal Internship Scheme (PIS) is designed:

Eligibility for PIS:

All bonafide full time regular students of Shivaji College, University of Delhi studying in any course/stream at the undergraduate level are eligible to apply for the Summer Internship as well as Academic Session Internship programmes. The total proposed number of interns in both categories is upto 28 students.

    Period of Internship

    • Summer internship offered during summer vacation will be of 6 weeks and may contain total 120 hours (flexible 20 hours per week)
    • Internship during the academic session will be of 200 hours to be completed in 16 weeks
    • Maximum period of an internship shall not exceed six months from the time of joining.

    Stipend/ Remuneration for the interns:

    PIS offers paid internships to participating students as per following:

    • ØSummer Internship: ₹ 6000/- per student for 120 hours during summer vacation
    • Internship (Academic Session): ₹ 12000/- per student for 200 hours

    Incentives under PIS

    Experience Certificate: A certificate will be given at the end of the internship tenure subject to the appraisal report from the concerned employing Department/Centers/.

    PIS provides opportunities across various domains within the college, including administrative offices, library services, admissions, departmental work and others. These domains offer interns diverse experiences and opportunities to contribute to the college community while enhancing their skills and knowledge. This scheme aims to enrich the educational experience of students at Shivaji College and prepare them for success in their future endeavors.
