DICTUM(The Debating Society of Shivaji College, University Of Delhi) successfully organized the 6th Edition of Annual Shivaji Bhonsle Hindi Parliamentary Debate from 29th to 31st January, 2021 in an online mode under Corona guidelines.
The Hindi Parliamentary Debate was a three day- long event from 29th to 31stJanuary, 2021 wherein 24 teams from various institutions competed for the running trophy. The debate was conducted on Zoom meeting platform. Various new technologies were used during the tournament to make the whole event transparent, i.e; Tabby Cat(an online software for match ups, etc). The technical team managed all the technicalities very well in the online mode. We were first most to use Tabbycat for match ups in the whole Delhi University, Debating Circuit.
The tournament saw 5 league one on one matches, and the top 8 teams on the tally entered the knock out part of the tournament where they played for the quarter finals. That was followed by semi final and grand finale.
After a great level of debate which comprised topics from various issues of the society, which pumped up the zeal of the teams and the efficiency with which every round was pulled off is quiet remarkable. Words were deliberately used as sword to cut the voice of each other.
