The NorthEast Cell of Shivaji College organised an Orientation cum Workshop titled "Being a Northeastern in Delhi" on 9th October 2023. The chief guest was Shri P.N Khrimey IPS, Jt. Commissioner, Head of Special Police Unit for Northeastern Region (SPUNER). The students were informed of the various laws and schemes they could avail of during their stay in Delhi.
The Cell also organised a Winter Clothes Collection Drive for flood-effected Sikkim and riot- effected Manipur. 10 boxes of clothes were collected between 6th- 10th November 2023. The students were overwhelmed by the response of their friends who contributed generously.
On 20th March 2024, the Cell undertook a field study to the Parliament of India, as part of the experiential learning programme. Students and teachers greatly benefitted from visiting both the old and new Parliament buildings. The guided tour explained the significance and symbolism of the colour schemes and architecture of both the buildings. Students also visited the Central Hall where both Houses convene for a joint session.
