The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), Shivaji College has the mission of fostering entrepreneurial mind-set and promoting job creators among youth. It works towards equipping the students with the required skills and motivation to become entrepreneurs. It conducts activities to provide students a platform to hone their skills, a forum to present and their ideas and gives them an opportunity to interact with entrepreneurs and experts from industry. Business plan competitions are conducted to encourage creative ideas in budding entrepreneurs. Many lectures, workshops, panel discussions with experts as well as inter college competitions are organised to recognize and reward the spirit of entrepreneurship.

In February 2020, EDC conducted its Annual International E-Summit. It witnessed an interactive inaugural session by Mrs. Anamika Malhotra from Steelbird and Vikrant Malhotra from Cafe Delhi Heights. They shared their knowledge about struggles and benefits of Entrepreneurship. The day was followed by Panel Discussions by prominent influencer, media person, radio jockey and food blogger. International Speaker Mr. Mario Schmidt from Lingel Windows spoke at the event. An inter college B-Plan Competition and E-Roadies 3.0, where participants were roasted on their Entrepreneurial Skills, were also held.
The Entrepreneurship Development started the academic year 2019-20 with an Orientation Programme on August 23, 2019, to inform students about the various sessions that the Cell organises and make them familiar with its past successes. The event was graced by Mr. Yashraj Bhardwaj, Co-founder of Zenith Vipers, and Mr. Devakar Basnet who was awarded the “Accord- Infosys Best Trainer”.
On September 26, 2019, a session on “Entrepreneurship Skills and Wellness Awareness” was organised where Mr. Prince Saini, a motivational speaker, gave an inspirational speech and motivated students to find their passion and achieve their goals.
The cell also conducted a B-Plan competition on the October 22, 2019, wherein several students competed for the best business idea. It was judged by Mr. Deepak Jain, Director General of Federation of India Industry. The event was simultaneously held with StartUp ka Funda 2.0, where various startup owners came and shared their success story. Our notable speakers for the event were Dr. Shikha Sharma, founder of Dr. Shikha’s Nutri Health, Nitesh Bhardwaj, Founder, Atserve, Ishu Bansal, Founder, Trucksuvidha, Sahil Khanna, Co-founder, Intellectual Indies, Sayon Chatterjee, Founder of Sayon and Yugansh Chokra, Founder of Shopnani.
