The Economics Society is named Epitome. All students, as well as the faculty of the Department are members of this society . Epitome has a well-structured student council who are responsible for conducting all events of the department throughout the year. Epitome is primarily a student driven society though the faculty guides and mentor the students constantly.
Though each year the society organises freshers welcome and farewell, the highlight of the society is conducting the annual inter- college festival ‘Pareto’. Named after the very famous Economist Vilfredo Pareto, the festival provides a vital platform to students across institutions in Delhi to participate and compete in various events. Events like quiz, ad mad, business plan, group discussion, etc. are organised to bring alive elements of economics in activities that involve skills and wits.
Every year, distinguished guests are invited at the inaugural ceremony. The inauguration is then followed by lecture by eminent speakers. The later part of the programme comprises various competitive events designed to test the economic knowledge among students. The faculty and students of the Department of Economics work together tirelessly every year to come up with riveting exposition of mind and matter.
