The Department of Commerce at Shivaji College upholds the tradition of the University of Delhi in imparting excellent education. The Department provides a stimulating environment for an all-round development of the students. Dedicated faculty with a strong background in commerce and economics encourage the students to understand not just the theoretical, but also cognitive and practical applications of the subject. To expose the students to latest developments in financial and corporate sectors, the Department organises seminars, discussions and workshops on contemporary issues. Students are encouraged to take up the responsibility for organising academic and extracurricular events so as to enhance their administrative and leadership skills. The student society ‘KAIZEN’ organises multiple activities under the guidance of teachers throughout the year. The annual festival ‘Optimum’ which attracts wide participation from Universities across India is filled with innovatively organised events like Business Plan, paper presentation Mock stock, Quiz etc.
