Departmental Activities during the session 2022-23

Departmental orientation was organized on November 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Computer Lab 3, to mark the beginning of the academic session 2022-23, for the newly admitted 1st year students. The students were introduced to all faculty members. They were apprised of their timetable and curriculum under NEP structure. They were given insights into ‘Websters’ - the computer science society for students.

A two-day workshop on Data Analysis Using Python on 7-8,February 2023. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Ravikant Tyagi, Trainer and Co-Founder BrainMentors Pvt. Ltd, having 8+ years’ experience as a Data Scientist and Software professional.

The workshop aimed at equipping students with necessary skills in Data Analysis and Visualization, introducing them to important libraries and tools for Data Science. The duration of the workshop was 12 hours, spread over 4 sessions of 3 hours each. 65 students attended the workshop. The workshop witnessed participation from students across different courses.

An inaugural ceremony was held on 7th February 2023. Ms. Preeti Sharma, Teacher-in-charge welcomed the speaker and motivated students to participate and utilize this opportunity to enhance their skillset.

Day one introduced students to the basics of Python Programming, making a simple Chatbot application in Python. Getting them started with NumPy library, creating N Dimension Array, Introduction to Pandas and how to perform analysis using pandas library. Day two comprised of working with the data visualization libraries matplotlib ,seaborn and Plotly. Plotting bar chart, histogram, scatter plots, line plot, box plots. 3D Plots, Live Graphs. They were also introduced to Streamlit -creating dashboards through them. Students were made to work on real time datasets to get hands on experience.



The 2-day workshop concluded with a Quiz to test the skills acquired through the workshop. Naveen from B.Sc(Hons) Physics stood 1st in the Quiz. The workshop ended with a vote of thanks.

Websters, the Computer Science society, organized its Annual technical fest 'Techelons' on April 13, 2023. Pre-events were held on April 12,2023 to mark the beginning of the festivities. Technical events like Dark Coding, Googler Brainiac Buster were held. The event witnessed tremendous response from students

Mr. Manoj Yadav, Founder and Engineering Head , Prismberry Technologies, was the Chief Guest and inaugural speaker for Techelons. He delivered an Inaugural lecture  on “ How AI and  ML will reshape Software Engineering. The fest comprised of technical and non-technical events.

The following events were held :-

  1. AI Artistry- Image Generation using AI Tools Competition
  2. Web Hive- Web Designing Competition
  3. Whatzapper- Championing the art of texting
  4. E-Lafda- LAN Gaming Competition

More than 500 registrations were received. The event witnessed participation from different Colleges of Delhi University, IPU and Chandigarh University. The fest concluded with a valedictory ceremony. All winners were congratulated.



The academic session concluded with a Farewell Ceremony on May 4, 2023 for the final year students. The department wished them luck for their future endeavors.
