  1. The Department also arranged for an industrial visit for the students to the Catch Bottling Unit (under the aegis of Dharam Pal Satyapal Group) in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh in October 2015. The students observed various techniques of bottling water and learned about the various channels of distribution and packaging. The students were informed about the various norms followed by the company and the regulations it is supposed to follow. Also the manager of the plant distributed free samples to the students so that the students too could enjoy the good natural quality water.
  1. Students were trained in different soft skills throughout the year via seminars on career guidance, group discussion and personal interview.

The Department organized its annual festival Invoke which saw a Panel Discussion as the flagship event on “Start-ups: Scope, issues and challenges” involved with the start-ups in India in March 2016. The panel discussion was addressed by Rishi Seth (Founder & CEO, Evoc), Rohit Kumar (Founder & CEO, Chapters App), Vyom Bhardwaj (VRentin Tech) and Ajay Chabbra (Founder & CDO, BGV Digital). Another major event was IGNITE, where students across the city participated and presented their business plans. The winners were provided token money to bolster their business ideas and inculcate an entrepreneurship spirit within the students. The festival was interspersed with several interesting and fun events like business quiz, treasure hunt, frugal billionaires and ICICI sponsored mock stock competition. The festival celebrated the ten years of academic excellence of the Department in Shivaji College in the presence of Prof Suresh Aggarwal (Dean & Head FASS&H), Dr. Shashi Nijhawan (Principal, Shivaji College), faculty and students of the college along with hundreds of students across the city.
