The Department organised a Visit to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Office, Delhi for the students of B Com( H) semester III and V on September 22, 2016
A Visit to Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) was for organised for students of B Com. (P) Semester III and V on September 23, 2016.
SEMINAR ON STOCK MARKETS
Seminar on “Investment in Stock Markets and Creating Wealth” on 9th January 2017.The speaker, Mr. Varun Malhotra being the director of EIFS Private limited, an Alumnus of Washington University in St Louis, USA and IIM-Ahmedabad,
holder of Charted Market Technician and Charted Financial Analyst, very well explained the students about ‘How to invest in Stock Exchange’. With the help of the data available on the stock exchange website he explained the audience as to when should they invest and sell in the market.
With his several years of experience of investing in the market he made the audience understand the power of compounding.
Slogan writing competition on “Digital Banking and Cashless Transactions” was organised on January 24, 2017. Many students from different disciplines participated in the event.
SEMINAR ON GST
Seminar on “GST and its Impact on Taxation System in India” was held on 22 February, 2017.
The speaker session was addressed by Mr. Dinesh Mittal, General Manager, Taxation in Walmart India.
He spelled out the concepts of goods and services tax and its impact on the taxation system in India through an interactive session held in the college auditorium.
With his invaluable experience in the taxation field he tried to explain the upcoming goods and service tax with a practical aspect to the students and the faculty members present.

OPTIMUM: ANNUAL INTERCOLLEGE FESTIVALT
Kaizen, the commerce society organized its annual departmental fest OPTIMUM 2017 on 22nd of March this year.
The theme of the inaugural session was “Cyber Laws and Crime”. The Chief Speaker of the event was Mr. PAVAN DUGGAL, Advocate, Supreme Court of India.
The Keynote address was given by Mr. RAKSHIT TANDON, (Cyber Security Expert), Consultant –Internet and Mobile Association of India.
It was an interactive session where the speakers discussed about the cyber-crimes in India and how to prevent social media breaches.
This year, Kaizen also launched its first edition of departmental students’ magazine – ‘OPTIMUM’.
Students of our department contributed in the same with articles, caricatures, quiz, puzzle, etc. It was a hazy dream which came into a concrete reality.
