The Department of Commerce organized one day workshop on Tally ERP 9 on 9th September,2015 for Semester I students of B.com (hons ) and B.com in association with Tally Incorporation to familiarize students with the software which is introduced in CBCS syllabus for B.COM students.
The Department of Commerce organized UGC and ICSSR sponsored National Conference on “Globalisation, Economic Development and Sustainability” on March 29th,2016 which was attended by researchers and academicians from across India. The Conference was inaugurated by Sh.Shivendra Tomar, MD, IFCI Venture Capital Ltd. Two books were released and presented on the occasion- “Globalisation, Economic Development and Sustainability” and “A B C of sustainability”
Prof.K.V.Bhanumurthy, Department of Commerce, Delhi University delivered a very interesting and enlightening plenary lecture on “Environmental Sustainability: Global Disparity and Global Environmental Degradation”
This was followed by a panel discussion on the topic “New Dimensions of Growth and Development”. The Panelists were Prof.Tejinder Sharma from Department of Commerce ,Kurukshetra University, Mr.Niraj Kumar Gupta,Chief General Manager, Financial Inclusion Department,NABARD,Dr.Sandhya Chintala,Vice President ,NASSCOM and Dr.Garima Babbar, Head Srategic Alliances,Education and Skill Development Adobe.
The Conference had two parallel technical sessions which were chaired by Prof.Mahabir Narwal,Department from Department of Commerce, Kurukshetra University and Dr.Yamini Gupt, ,Department of Business Economics respectively. Research Papers were presented by academicians and research scholars from various Universities like Calcutta, Chandigarh , Kurukshetra, Delhi and Jamia Milia.
OPTIMUM – The Annual Commerce Festival
The Commerce Society “Kaizen” organized its one day annual festival “OPTIMUM” on 30th March,2016 where more than hundred students from different colleges of Delhi University and Other Universities and Private Institutions participated in this most awaited academic festival.
Following competitions were conducted in OPTIMUM 2016:
Bespeak– the group discussion on contemporary topics,
Pubiciteˊ- a competition to test the skills of marketing and advertising.
Quizart- quiz on economics, commerce and current affairs,
Mackpack – brought out the creativity and packaging skills of participants
Poster competition – on the theme of National Conference.
Treasure hunt – cryptic clues and questions were used to lead the participants to the treasure.
